Late 19th/ early 20th century French 0.950 (higher purity than sterling) silver ewer / pitcher by renowned silversmith Emile Puiforcat with exquisite floral and geometric patterns. Measuring 14 1/4'' in height and 10'' from handle to spout and weighing 54.7 ozt. Bearing hallmarks as shown.
Founded in 1820 by Emile Puiforcat, the Parisian family workshop has passed down its renowned silverwork mastery from one generation to the next. It was the visionary leadership and artistic talent of Jean E. Puiforcat, the fourth generation in the workshop, that truly brought the world’s attention to Puiforcat; his design legacy was a significant contribution to the studio, and in turn a major contribution to the international Art Déco movement of his time.
